Glenn & Nancy Shapiro are long time animal lovers, volunteers, and advocates for animals. They founded KodiakCare in 2020, inspiring family and friends to join them in making life better for dogs.
Why they started KodiakCare
As the name suggests, KodiakCare is named after their beloved Bernese Mountain dog, Kodiak, a sweet gentle giant whose love and affection were surpassed only by his medical conditions.

Realizing that many other pet parents don’t have the means to save a dog the way they were able to save Kodiak inspired KodiakCare.
A favorite personal dog story
I believe animals can truly sense goodness in other animals. Kodiak met cows, horses, and even squirrels who came up to greet him nose to nose, with no fear.
